On Wednesday, the Philadelphia Flyers officially announced the signings of defenseman Hunter McDonald to a two-year contract and forward Nolan Foote to a one-year, two-way contract.
McDonald's contract has an average annual value of $912,000. While Foote will make $850,000.

The towering 6-foot-4, 205-pound McDonald was a restricted free agent heading into the summer after making his professional debut last season following a successful collegiate career.
Known for his heavy, physical presence and stay-at-home defensive style, McDonald is expected to come into training camp and aggressively compete for a roster spot. Even if he begins the season with the AHL's Lehigh Valley Phantoms to gain more professional seasoning,
Originally drafted in the first round (27th overall) by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2019, the 25-year-old winger spent the 2025-26 season with the Florida Panthers organization.
The 6-foot-3, 196-pound left-shot forward brings 42 games of NHL experience, having split his professional career between Tampa Bay, New Jersey, and Florida. Last season, Foote appeared in 12 NHL games for the Panthers (scoring one goal) and was highly productive in the AHL, registering 32 points (14 goals, 18 assists) in 54 games with the Charlotte Checkers.
