The 24-year-old left-shot defenseman arrived in Edmonton as the absolute centerpiece of the blockbuster trade that sent veteran blueliner Darnell Nurse to the San Jose Sharks. He collected five goals and 12 points while averaging 17:09 of ice time in 50 games with the Sharks during the 2025-26 regular season.
The New Jersey Devils originally selected Mukhamadullin in the first round (No. 20 overall) of the 2020 NHL Draft. The 6’4″ left-shot defender spent parts of four seasons with KHL club Ufa Salavat Yulayev, based in his hometown of Ufa, Russia, before coming over to North America in the spring of 2023. He also skated in seven games with Team Russia at the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship.
Through 83 career NHL games with the Sharks over parts of three seasons to date, Mukhamadullin has collected seven goals, 22 points, and 34 penalty minutes. He’s added eight goals and 53 points in 88 career AHL games with the Barracuda.
