On Wednesday afternoon, the Utah Mammoth announced they have signed veteran forward and long-time New York Islanders captain Anders Lee to a three-year contract.

The deal carries an average annual value (AAV) of $5.4 million, totaling $16.2 million. Coming on the heels of their blockbuster signing of center Vincent Trocheck earlier in the day, Utah has firmly established itself as the most aggressive player on the market, completely reshaping the upper echelon of their forward group.

The 35-year-old power forward has spent his entire 14-year NHL career in New York after being drafted by the organization in 2009.

Lee served as the undisputed heartbeat of the Islanders, wearing the captain's "C" for the past eight seasons following John Tavares' departure in 2018. During his tenure on Long Island, he logged 913 regular-season games and scored 274 goals,
