  1. The Anaheim Ducks have made a significant investment to make themselves much tougher to play against. On Tuesday, the club announced they have signed bruising forward A.J. Greer to a four-year, $17 million contract.

The deal, which carries an average annual value (AAV) of $4.25 million, includes a 10-team no-trade clause throughout the duration of the four-year term. The Ducks had previously acquired Greer's negotiating rights from the Florida Panthers on Monday in exchange for the rights to veteran defenseman Radko Gudas.

During the 2025-26 campaign with the Panthers, Greer established new career highs offensively, posting 17 goals and 15 assists for 32 points in 78 games. However, his true value lies in his physical edge. Standing at 6-foot-3 and 207 pounds, the Quebec native plays a punishing, hard-nosed style. He registered over 200 hits in each of the last two seasons and racked up 113 penalty minutes this past year, establishing himself as a heavy checking forward who is incredibly difficult to play against along the wall.

In nine NHL seasons, Greer has 36 goals and 45 assists for 81 points and 448 penalty minutes in 326 career regular-season games with the Panthers, Colorado Avalanche, Calgary Flames and Boston Bruins.

He’s also dressed in 278 career AHL regular-season games, where he’s scored 85 goals and recorded 110 assists for 195 points and 380 penalty minutes.
