The lone game on Monday night saw the Minnesota Wild and Colorado Avalanche continue their Central Division Final.
Colorado Avalanche 5, Minnesota Wild 2
Colorado Leads Series 3-1
The Colorado Avalanche are officially one win away from the Western Conference Final. After dropping Game 3 and giving the Minnesota Wild life, the Avalanche responded with a suffocating, physical performance on the road, overpowering the Wild 5-2 at the Xcel Energy Center. Quinn Hughes logged a mind-boggling 34:13 of ice time. His partner, Brock Faber, wasn't far behind at 29:19.
Making his first start of the 2026 postseason, Mackenzie Blackwood was the definition of "clutch" for the Avalanche. While Colorado outshot Minnesota 34-21, Blackwood was forced to make several high-danger saves early in the third period to protect a slim lead.
Nathan MacKinnon took a puck to the face midway through the game but returned to score an empty-net goal. Brock Nelson also scored an empty-net goal, sealing the win for the Avalanche.
Minnesota went 1-for-4 on the power play, while Colorado was 1-for-2.
The series will return to Denver for Game 5 on Wednesday night, with puck drop scheduled for a little after 8 p.m. ET.
