On Monday morning, the Carolina Hurricanes announced they have agreed to terms with forward Mark Jankowski on a two-year contract extension that will keep him in Raleigh through the 2027-28 season.

According to the Hurricanes, Jankowski’s new contract carries a $1.85 million cap hit for both the 2026-27 and 2027-28 seasons, a significant increase from his current $800,000 salary.

“Mark has been an excellent fit for our organization throughout his time here,” Hurricanes general manager Eric Tulsky said in a media release on Monday. “He’s proven he can contribute in different ways, and we are glad he’s chosen to remain with the organization.”

Jankowski tallied 11 goals and 21 points in 68 games with the Hurricanes during the 2025-26 regular season. He has added one assist in eight playoff games this spring (and has also had two goals overturned on review).

The Hurricanes originally acquired Jankowski from the Nashville Predators for a fifth-round pick late in the 2024-25 season. After being traded, Jankowski finished the season with eight goals in 19 games with the Hurricanes.

Through 482 career NHL games with the Flames, Penguins, Sabres, Predators, and Hurricanes, Jankowski has collected 79 goals and 145 points. He’s added a goal and four points in 31 playoff contests.
