The veteran presence of Jordan Staal opened the scoring, but the game was truly decided in the second half. Andrei Svechnikov wired home a heavy one-timer during a 4-on-3 power play to extend the lead to 3-1. Any hopes of a Flyers comeback were extinguished when Nikolaj Ehlers pounced on a defensive blunder by Rasmus Ristolainen, beating Dan Vladar on a clean breakaway to put the game well out of reach.
