A couple of thrilling divisional matchups took place on Monday night in the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Carolina Hurricanes 3, Philadelphia Flyers 2 (OT)
Carolina Leads Series 2-0

The Carolina Hurricanes are proving to be a nightmare to close out. After falling behind 2-0 to a resilient Philadelphia Flyers squad, the Hurricanes stormed back with two goals in the third period to force the extra frame. In overtime, Taylor Hall played the hero. The win gives Carolina a commanding 2-0 lead as the series shifts to Philadelphia.

Vegas Golden Knights 3, Anaheim Ducks 1
Vegas Leads Series 1-0

The Vegas Golden Knights played a nearly flawless defensive game at T-Mobile Arena, stifling the Ducks' transition game to earn a 3-1 win. Ivan Barbashev notched the go-ahead goal in the second period, and Mitch Marner scored an empty-netter in the dying seconds sealed the result. Carter Hart played his best game since returning to the NHL this year, stopping 33 of the 34 shots he faced. Ducks goaltender Lukas Dostal was solid, but ended up with the loss after making 19 stops.
