It was Montreal's Brendan Gallagher who opened the scoring in a gritty and fashionable way, dirivng the net for a quick rebound and beating Vezina Finalist Andrei Vasilevksiy. Then Dominic James scored the first goal of his NHL playoff career just before the seven-minute mark, tying the game at one. Just 11 seconds later, Kirby Dach used an outstanding effort to beat Andrei Vasilevskiy to put the Habs back out in front. It was Alexandre Texier getting the game winner early on in the third period, firing a shot on net beating Vasilevskiy. The Canadiens will return to Bell Centre on Friday night with a chance to clinch their first series win since 2021.
Philadelphia Flyers 1, Pittsburgh Penguins 0 (OT)
Philadelphia Wins Series 4-2
In a goaltending duel for the ages, the Philadelphia Flyers officially ended the Pittsburgh Penguins' season. With a scoreless regulation not solving the game, it headed to overtime where Cam York fired one past Arturs Šilovs for the winner, chucking his stick into the Flyers crowd. Dan Vladar outdueled Šilovs in a masterpiece performance, stopping all 42 shots he faced.
Vegas Golden Knights 5, Utah Mammoth 4 (2OT)

In a grueling double-overtime saga the Vegas Golden Knights edged the Utah Mammoth 3-2. John Marino opened the scoring for Utah, but two minutes later, Pavel Dorofeyev found the back of the net to tie the game at one heading into the break. Lawson Crouse got Utah ahead in the second, before Dorofeyev fired home his second of the night to tie the game up. Both team's traded goals in the thid period before Michael Carcone got the lead for Utah. However, Dorofeyev would secure the hat trick and tied the game up once again at 4-4. In double overtime, it was Brett Howden playing hero, beating Karel Vejmelka shorthanded.
