As Frank Seravalli is reporting, the Predators’ search has entered a critical phase with at least three candidates having already completed multiple in-person interviews.

The finalists currently include Bill Scott (Assistant GM, Edmonton Oilers), Brett Peterson (Assistant GM, Florida Panthers), and Scott White (Assistant GM, Dallas Stars).

While former New Jersey Devils GM, Tom Fitzgerald will have an interview this week.

The search for a successor to Barry Trotz will officially result in an external hire. Sources indicate that internal candidates Jeff Kealty (Assistant GM) and Scott Nichol (Assistant GM/Director of Player Development) have been informed they are no longer in the running.

Perhaps the most intriguing detail of the Predators' process is the involvement of minority owner and legendary college football coach Nick Saban. Along with majority owner Bill Haslam, Saban has been "very communicative" and has personally sat in on interviews to provide feedback on leadership and organizational culture.
