The 25-year-old tallied three goals and eight assists for 11 points, averaging 16:29 of ice time through 52 games in 2025-26. Lundkvist, a former first-round pick of the New York Rangers, has settled into a reliable depth role on the Stars' blueline since being acquired via trade in 2022. He’s also played in 12 Stanley Cup Playoff games, all during the Stars’ 2024 run.
“We’re excited to lock up Nils for two more years,” Stars’ general manager Jim Nill said in a statement. “He is a highly skilled defenseman with excellent mobility and vision. His ability to move the puck and create offense makes him a valuable piece for our team moving forward.”
Lundkvist and the Stars are currently preparing for their first-round playoff series against the Minnesota Wild, which is set to kick off Saturday night at the American Airlines Center
