With a goal and two assists in a 6-1 season-ending victory over the Winnipeg Jets, Macklin Celebrini officially recorded his 115th point of the 2025-26 season, surpassing Joe Thornton for the most points in a single season in San Jose Sharks history.

Celebrini entered the night with 112 points, needing three to stand alone at the top. He wasted no time, picking up two assists in the first period to tie "Jumbo Joe" before firing a wrist shot past Eric Comrie in the third period to cement his place in the record books. Celebrini scored 45 goals, which places him second in San Jose history for tallies in a single season, trailing only Jonatan Cheechoo’s Rocket Richard Trophy-winning 56 goals during the 2005-06 campaign.

For nearly two decades, Thornton’s 114-point campaign in 2006-07 was considered the gold standard in San Jose. Celebrini, at just 19-years-old and in only his second NHL season, has now eclipsed that mark, doing so in the same 82-game span Thornton used to set the original record. With 115 points, Celebrini will finish the season fourth in the NHL in scoring.

In 152 career games with the Sharks, Celebrini now has 70 goals and 108 assists for 178 points.
