During Monday night's contest against the Tampa Bay Lightning at Amalie Arena, Detroit Red Wings forward Patrick Kane recorded his 1,400th career NHL point, becoming just the 24th player in the history of the league to reach the monumental milestone.
By reaching 1,400 points, Kane enters a stratosphere occupied almost exclusively by Hall of Famers. He is only the third active player to reach the mark, joining Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin. Notably, Pittsburgh's Evgeni Malkin reached the same milestone just nine days ago.

Kane has had a big season for milestones, in January he became the 50th player in NHL history to score 500 career goals. On April 2nd, he passed Brett Hull to become the highest scoring American player in NHL history.
After being selected first overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, he took the league by storm, tallying 72 points (21G-51A) as a rookie to claim the Calder Trophy.
Across 15-plus seasons in Chicago, Kane became the face of a modern dynasty. He backstopped three Stanley Cup championships (2010, 2013, 2015) and collected a trophy case of individual honors, including the 2013 Conn Smythe Trophy as postseason MVP and the 2016 Hart Trophy, when he became the first American-born player to lead the NHL in scoring and win league MVP. Following a brief stint with the New York Rangers, Kane has spent the last three full seasons in Detroit.
At 37, Kane is now the fifth-highest scoring non-Canadian in NHL history. With his intention to play the 2026-27 season, he is within striking distance of climbing even higher on the all-time list.
