Following the New York Rangers' morning skate in Sunrise, Jonathan Quick officially announced that tonight’s contest against the Florida Panthers will be the last of his legendary 19-season NHL career.

Quick retires as the most decorated American-born goaltender to ever play the game. After surpassing Ryan Miller in 2024 for the most wins by an American, Quick continued to build on his legacy in the 2025-26 season, recently becoming the first American goaltender to reach the 410-win milestone.

Quick will forever be remembered for his 2011-12 postseason run as the eighth-seeded Los Angeles Kings tore through the playoffs. Quick allowed just seven goals in the Stanley Cup Finals, securing the first championship in Kings' franchise history and earning the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP.

Though he spent 16 seasons as the heart of the Los Angeles Kings, Quick’s final chapter in New York was more than just a victory lap. Signed in 2023 to backup Igor Shesterkin, Quick provided veteran stability and leadership, even during the Rangers' difficult 2025-26 campaign. Throughout his career, Quick won 410 games, with a 910 save percentage and 65 shutouts. He captured three Stanley Cup championships, won the Conn Smythe in 2012 and won the William M. Jennings Trophy twice.

Internationally, the Milford, Connecticut native represented the United States at The Winter Olympic Games in 2014 in a fourth-place finish. He also represented his country at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey in Toronto, finishing in seventh place.
