The NHL Department of Player Safety announced Friday, that Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk has been fined $2,500 for unsportsmanlike conduct.
With less than three minutes remaining in a chippy contest, Tkachuk was assessed a minor penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct following a verbal altercation with the Panthers' bench and an exchange with his brother, Matthew Tkachuk.
The $2,500 fine is the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement for this specific infraction. The money goes directly to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.

This is Tkachuk’s second fine of the 2025–26 season. In January, he was at the center of a Department of Player Safety hearing involving Jets defenseman Logan Stanley, which resulted in a one-game suspension for Stanley for roughing Tkachuk.
Tkachuk currently leads the NHL in minor penalties taken (44) and sits third in overall penalty minutes (142) while leading Ottawa in scoring with 72 points.
The fine comes at a tense time for the Senators (40-30-5, 85 pts), who are currently locked in a desperate battle for the final Eastern Conference wild-card spot. Ottawa sits just two points behind the Columbus Blue Jackets with seven games remaining.
