San Jose Sharks superstar Macklin Celebrini reached a historic milestone on Monday night, becoming just the sixth teenager in NHL history to record 100 points in a single season.

The 19-year-old phenom reached the 100-point mark during a dominant first period against the St. Louis Blues, scoring his 37th goal of the season to reach 100 points before adding another goal late in the frame to sit at 101 points.

Celebrini joins an elite group of Hall of Famers and generational talents who achieved the feat before their 20th birthday. Notably, he is the first teenager to reach the mark since Sidney Crosby in 2006-07. He joins Wayne Gretzky, Dale Hawerchuk, Mario Lemieux and Jimmy Carson.

After a strong rookie campaign, tallying 63 points that saw him finish third in Calder Trophy voting, Celebrini has exploded in his second year. He is now within striking distance of Joe Thornton’s single-season Sharks record of 114 points (set in 2006–07) with 10 games remaining in the schedule. Celebrini currently sits fifth in the NHL scoring race and has emerged as a legitimate finalist for the Hart Trophy as league MVP.

The Sharks entered the game sitting sixth in the Western Conference wild-card race, tying them with St. Louis.
