Frondell, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, arrives in North America following a record-breaking rookie season in the Swedish Hockey League. Frondell became just the fourth 18-year-old in SHL history to score 20 goals in a single season. He led all SHL rookies in goals (20) and finished the regular season with 28 points in 43 games. In 81 games with the club over the past three seasons, Frondell has notched 31 goals and 23 assists for 54 points.
Earlier this year, Frondell was named the Best Forward at the 2026 World Junior Championship after leading Team Sweden to a Gold Medal with five goals and eight points in seven games.
Frondell is currently in the first year of the three-year, entry-level contract he signed with Chicago in July 2025. Because he was lent to Sweden for the majority of the season, his contract will officially "burn" its first year upon playing his first NHL game this week.
