The National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced Tuesday that Anaheim Ducks forward Beckett Sennecke has been fined $2,000 for embellishment.
The fine stems from a play during the third period of the Ducks' game against the Montreal Canadiens on March 15. Sennecke was observed taking an "exaggerated fall" after brief contact from Canadiens forward Josh Anderson.

Under NHL Rule 64, fines for diving and embellishment are issued on a graduated scale based on the number of citations a player receives during a single season. Sennecke was previously issued a formal warning by NHL Hockey Operations following an incident against the St. Louis Blues on March 8. If Sennecke receives a third citation, the fine increases to $3,000. Head coaches also begin receiving fines starting with a player's fifth citation.
Sennecke has tallied 21 goals and 33 assists for 54 points in 70 games with the Ducks as a 19 and 20-year-old, following a standout junior hockey career with the Oshawa Generals of the OHL.
Currently sitting atop the Pacific Division with 82 points heading into the final 12 games of the season, the Ducks will look to continue their form, with hopes of clinching a spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time since losing in the first round in 2018.
