The injury occurred during the first period of Sunday's 3-1 victory over the Nashville Predators. Draisaitl was hit along the boards by Predators forward Ozzy Wiesblatt just over four minutes into the game. While he attempted to play two more shifts late in the first period, he did not return for the second or third.
Draisaitl was in the midst of another Hart-calibre season, ranking fourth in the NHL with 97 points (35G, 62A) in 65 games. He currently leads the Oilers with 16 power-play goals and ranks second in the league with 42 power-play points.
While Draisaitl is ruled out for the final 14 games of the regular season, the team has not yet specified if the injury will bleed into the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs, which are scheduled to begin the weekend of April 18-19.
