Montreal Canadiens forward Kirby Dach will be out for the next 2-4 weeks with an upper-body injury.

The injury occurred early in the first period of Sunday’s 4-3 loss to the Anaheim Ducks. Just three minutes into the game, Dach was hit along the boards by Ducks winger Jeffrey Viel; he appeared to be in immediate distress, holding his face before heading to the dressing room for the remainder of the contest.

Dach has already had to deal with his fair share of injuries this season, as he missed three games with a lower-body injury in October, as well as 31 games from November to January due to a foot fracture. When he has been healthy, he’s produced around his usual rate with eight goals and six assists for 14 points in 32 games. Despite the missed time, Dach has shown improved two-way utility this season, posting 14 points (8G, 6A) in 32 games while playing a more conservative 13:48 per game.

Forward Zachary Bolduc is expected to draw into the lineup for tonight's rivalry matchup against the Boston Bruins at the Bell Centre. The Canadiens have recently been rotating healthy scratches like Brendan Gallagher and Bolduc.
