McMann is in the midst of a career season, recording 19 goals and 32 points in 60 games. Seattle has roughly $22 million in cap space and is expected to pursue an extension for McMann, who was reportedly seeking a long-term deal in the $4–5 million AAV range.
McMann's departure marks the end of a nearly six-year journey in Toronto. An undrafted free agent out of Colgate University, he began his pro career in the ECHL before grinding his way to becoming a 20-goal scorer in the NHL.
McMann had been held out of Toronto’s lineup for the past two games for "roster management purposes". He is expected to join the Kraken immediately and could potentially debut as early as their next game, possibly slotting in on a line with Matty Beniers or Jordan Eberle.
