In 55 games this season, Dowd has recorded 16 points (4G, 12A) and 113 hits. He is under contract for one more season at a manageable $3 million AAV. Dowd leads all Washington forwards this season with 2:40 of shorthanded ice time per game, a mark that ranks 10th among all NHL forwards. A career 51% man in the dot, Dowd provides much-needed help for a Vegas squad that has occasionally used Marner at center to fill gaps.
Vikman has posted an 8-7-2 record with a 3.41 GAA in the AHL this season. He provides Washington with much-needed goaltending depth in its system.
Dowd joins Cole Smith (acquired from Nashville on Tuesday) as the second major addition to the Golden Knights' bottom-six this week.
