On Wednesday evening, the Edmonton Oilers announced that they had acquired forward Jason Dickinson and Colton Dach from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for winger Andrew Mangiapane and a conditional 2027 first-round draft pick.

Dickinson has appeared in 47 games this year, recording six goals and seven assists for 13 points. The 30-year-old from Ontario has 168 career points in 549 regular season games. Dach has nine points in 53 games this season, and he’s skated to a minus-15 rating, and currently ranks 10th in the NHL with 189 hits this season.

Mangipane carries a salary cap hit of $3.6 million next season and contributed just 14 points in his 52 games this season. The Blackhawks get a former 35-goal scorer who may benefit from a reset and a potential top-six role.

To make room for the new acquisitions, the Oilers officially moved Curtis Lazar to Long-Term Injured Reserve (LTIR) on Wednesday night.
