The Pittsburgh Penguins announced on Wednesday that captain Sidney Crosby will be out for at least four weeks due to a lower-body injury.
Crosby received an awkward hit from Czech defenseman Radko Gudas, knocking him out of the Olympics, effectively ending his run in Milan. Before the injury, Crosby had recorded six points (two goals, four assists) in four Olympic games.

Crosby returned to Pittsburgh earlier this week for evaluation, where the team medical staff determined the four-week recovery timeline. Crosby leads the team this season with 59 points (27 goals, 32 assists) in 56 games.
The Penguins currently sit second in the Metropolitan Division with a record of 29-15-12. The Penguins resume their season at home against the New Jersey Devils on Thursday, February 26.
Meanwhile, the Penguins have activated defensemen Kris Letang from the injured reserve after missing time with a fractured foot.
