The Los Angeles Kings acquired Artemi Panarin from the New York Rangers on Wednesday in exchange for prospect Liam Greentree and a conditional third-round pick.
The Rangers will retain 50% of Panarin's $11.6 million cap hit.
Upon completion of the trade, Panarin and LA agreed on a two-year, $11M AAV extension.

Panarin has tallied 19 goals and 38 assists for 57 points in 52 games this season. Panarin leaves Brodaway after six and a half seasons, he averaged well over a point per game, leading the team to a Presidents' Trophy and a Conference Finals appearance. His 2023-24 campaign will go down as one of the best individual seasons in Rangers history, as his 120 points led the team to a Presidents' Trophy and fell just three points shy of Jaromír Jágr's single-season franchise record.
Sitting last in the Eastern Conference, Rangers GM Chris Drury has now moved two major veterans, Panarin and defenseman Carson Soucy, within the past two weeks.
Greentree joins the Rangers as a 6-foot-3 power forward, the Windsor Spitfires captain has tallied 23 goals and 22 assists for 45 points in 34 games this season. Last season, Greentree recorded a staggering 119 points (49 goals, 70 assists) in 64 OHL games.
He is originally a first-round, No. 26 overall selection by the Kings in the 2024 NHL Draft.
